Earlier today it was reported and confirmed that DC Universe would not be moving forward with a second season of Swamp Thing. The reasons seem to be budget related but a new report from Deadline indicates since the merger with AT&T and Warner Bros that the new leadership was not very high on Swamp Thing.
Now in the wake of this news it seems WarnerMedia will look into how the DC Universe service fits into what their plans are next. There have been talks of WarnerMedia releasing their own streaming service much like Disney+ and DC Universe being folded into that service as well. This seems the most likely and WarnerMedia would probably not want to offer two streaming services. I think Warner would want to have all of the content under one easy to navigate roof. DC Universe has had back to back hits with Titans and Doom Patrol since the apps launch and Swamp Thing actually has scored very well with critics and fans. Titans season 2 is currently filming and other shows such as Stargirl and Harley Quinn are set to debut soon.
Doom Patrol is awaiting news on a second season but I assume it will get picked up as well.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
