WB Not Moving Forward With Jared Leto ‘JOKER’ Film or Joker/Harley Film

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15711″ img_size=”800×400″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Drafting off the tremendous success of DC’s Aquaman, DC has a number of films coming out to hopefully follow in it’s footsteps. These include Matt Reeve’s The Batman, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984, as well as Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey: The Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn. With so much in the hopper, not to mention the upcoming Shazam! film, there appears to be little appetite to take on more. Because of that, it is being reported that the plans for a Jared Leto Joker stand-alone film has been shelved as well as the proposed Joker/Harley Quinn team-up.

The reasons for this are probably more to do with their current projects than any financial concerns. DC is pushing the Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix Joker film, especially with all the buzz the still and released information has caused. As for Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, she is otherwise engaged in the Birds of Prey film as well as others that are in the planning stage. With so much in the works, it is of no surprise that certain projects had to be either postponed or shelved entirely. While this may come as a disappointment for those who were fan’s of Jared Leto’s take on the Joker, don’t feel too bad for the actor as he is getting read to do some work for Sony Pictures in the Marvel based Morbius the Living Vampire.

Are you disappointed or surprised that the Jared Leto/Margot Robbie films were likely shelved? Will Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker make you get over that disappointment? Share your feeling about it with us at GVNation.
