In this original Cartoon Network animated series, We Baby Bears follows lovable siblings Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear on whimsical adventures in their magical box in search of a place they can call home. Along the way, they meet new friends, learn a few lessons and discover that “home” can mean wherever they are, as long as they’re together. The series stars Connor Andrade (Amphibia, Blaze and the Monster Machines) as Grizz, Amari McCoy (Puppy Dog Pals, T.O.T.S.) as Panda, and Max Mitchell (Lego City Adventures, T.O.T.S.) as Ice Bear.

Video Quality
We Baby Bears: The Magical Box comes to DVD with a 480p transfer that looks very nice despite the lack of a HD option. While this disc does not match the visual perfection of a Blu-Ray, this modern series does avoid a substantial amount of digital anomalies such as artifacting and digital noise. The animation style is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Line detail remains strong and stable throughout with only a minor amount of blurring along edges. The series features a vibrant color palette throughout that is perhaps the strongest element of this release. The disc provides fairly deep black levels for a clean viewing experience free of distracting crush and only minor banding. The DVD presentation is a fine experience, but we hope Warner Bros. releases the series on Blu-Ray in the future.
Audio Quality
This release boasts a Dolby Digital 2.0 track that sounds pleasing within its lossy limitations. Dialogue is clear with no major issues of clipping even during more kinetic moments. The sound design is not too ambitious, but there are some moments that channel a more dynamic energy. The low end of the track is not a standout aspect of the soundscape. Environmental sounds are given the appropriate prominence which really makes the world come to life. Warner Bros. has done a pretty solid job with this audio track. There are optional English SDH subtitles included on the disc for those who desire them.
Special Features
There are no special features provided on this disc.
Final Thoughts
We Baby Bears: The Magical Box is a really fun initial batch of episodes which establishes itself as something different from the mothership series. The characters are just as lovable as ever as they get into silly and exciting adventures. The animation is gorgeous and the humor is written on a level that is enjoyable for all ages. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a DVD with a good A/V presentation but nothing in the way of special features. It is our hope that we eventually get a Blu-Ray release of the complete series, but this is a good way to own this in a physical capacity. Recommended
We Baby Bears: The Magical Box is currently available to purchase on DVD and Digital.
