Paralyzed by his fear of dying, Miles Grissom (Clark Freeman) offers a cash reward to the first person who can show him a ghost, an angel, a demon, or anything to prove the existence of an afterlife. He narrows responses down to three candidates – a scientist, a medium, and a worldly entrepreneur. And along with his fiercely protective mother (Annette O’Toole), he embarks on an adventure that will spiral into an unthinkable nightmare.
From Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton, the directors of the chilling YellowBrickRoad, comes a supremely accomplished supernatural thriller, “one of the most gripping paranormal explorations that cinema has seen in years” (Fantasia Int’l Film Festival) and winner of Audience Awards at Dances with Films and the Dead by Dawn Horror Film Festival, as well as the Silver Raven at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. WE GO ON: REMASTERED has been digitally restored and includes enhanced visual effects and a crystal clear picture for optimal viewing and more chills guaranteed per minute!

Video Quality
We Go On returns to Blu-Ray in a 1080p presentation that has been digitally remastered with updated special effects. We have never seen the previous Blu-Ray released by the label in 2017, but we are generally quite pleased with the look of this new disc. The skin tones appear detailed and natural to the color grading and environment. The overall aesthetic is muted and slightly desaturated with intense highlights that are strong without veering into blooming.
The black levels are mostly deep and do not appear to suffer from any compression artifacts. There are no obvious bouts of intrusive digital noise or banding in the presentation outside of a few fleeting instances. The environment reveals a fine amount of detail. This transfer levels up when it comes to textures on display. The special effects look pretty solid, so we can only imagine that adds to the effectiveness of the narrative. If you are going to check this one out, this is the version to see.
Audio Quality
The film comes to Blu-Ray with a nice DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio and LPCM 2.0 track in the original English. The movie is pretty subdued for the first half when no haunting moments are happening, but things get more lively in the third act. The low end of the track is not engaged substantially, but it adds moments of texture. The music creates an unsettling atmosphere as sounds come through with worthy fidelity. The dialogue and sound effects are deftly balanced with the music where nothing gets overshadowed in the track. You do not experience any major deficiencies in the listening experience. Surround channels get some subtle environmental activity from the locale that allows it to feel more immersive. This track does everything it needs to do. There are optional English SDH subtitles provided.

Final Thoughts
We Go On is a nice step up from the work Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland put forth on YellowBrickRoad. This effort hones in on the narrative ambition and executes it with a knowing confidence that works quite well. The film lulls you into a familiar rhythm in the first half where the relationship between the characters played by Annette O’Toole and Clark Freeman can flourish. The second half pays off those dynamics with a formidable jump into more familiar genre waters. Some audiences may wish the conclusion had more bite to it, but we like the arc of the narrative. Lightyear Entertainment and MVD Entertainment have released a Blu-Ray featuring a strong updated A/V presentation and some fun commentary tracks. If you like character-driven ghost stories, give this a watch. Recommended
