While we are all consumed with the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are some comic book movies from years ago that still stand out. One would be Wesley Snipe’s 1998’s Blade. Well before Robert Downey Jr. first put on the Iron Man suit and before Chadwick Boseman helmed his Black Panther film, we had Snipes giving us a dark rendition of a superhero movie with Blade. Much more related to the way the Netflix Marvel shows are, would a Blade remake fit into the normally “cheery” MCU? Albeit there was nothing cheery about Avengers: Infinity War!
Of course, fans would love a Blade movie, but who really would even be able to take Snipes’s place. According to the actor, he would be more than willing to return:

Kevin Feige commented at one point at the possibility of a Blade film within the MCU:
“We think it would be cool. Someday,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said last July. “My tenure at Marvel started 17 years ago, and there were two things that sort of launched the modern era. One was X-Men, which was the first thing that people said, ‘Oh, there’s life here.’ But a few years before that, there was Blade. A character nobody had heard of at all, had only appeared in a few issues of Tomb of Dracula or something, turned into a big franchise.”
It would be cool to get Snipes on board, not only because of Blade, but because at one point, we could have gotten Snipes in the Marvel universe as another character – Black Panther. Having Snipes involved within the MCU only seems about natural. What do you think? Would you like another Blade standalone movie and would you like to see him within the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Should we even get a Blade series on another platform?
