Will Smith Will Not Reprise His Role as Deadshot in The Suicide Squad

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16652″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While Will Smith was arguably one of the best parts of Suicide Squad (2016) and the actor had been gearing up for a sequel, it may be the case of “too little, too late”. Due to scheduling conflicts, Smith will not be returning for the second film in the franchise, which will be titled The Suicide Squad and directed and written by former Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

This would, sort of; make sense, considering the next movie would be considered a relaunch and not so much a sequel. Still, fans and the studio were wanting their two biggest players, Smith and Margot Robbie (as Harley Quinn) to return. While Robbie is still expected to return as the well-known DC character despite her involvement in Birds of Prey, this shakeup with Smith does get me a little nervous. There’s plenty of characters for Gunn to play with, but it is disheartening that an actor who was so ready to return, won’t be.

Let’s remember that Smith tattooed the word “Skwad” on co-stars Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney, symbolizing their commitment to their roles. To not see them again, well; will be a bit of a bummer. What do you think about Smith not returning? Let us know!
