With the recent talk of the great success of Spider-Man PS4 and the inevitable likelihood of a sequel, it has been hoped that said sequel would include Venom and the Symbiote suit. The game received plenty of rave reviews and gamers have been digging deep into it to go through the story, complete all the possible side-missions, and while doing so, collect every backpack. As players complete these different tasks it allows for players to unlock the dozens of Spider suits that Peter can wear. While this encompasses many of the suits that Peter has worn in his comic days it also includes those from the big screen versions. However there is one suit that Spidey fans have found to be missing in action from the game. That would be Spider-Man’s famous black suit, also known as his Symbiote suit which is not featured. The reason for that may be due to Insomniac’s larger plans.
In reference to this, Kinda Funny Games spoke to Bryan Intihar, the Creative Director at Insomniac Games about not including the symbiote suit in Spider-Man PS4. The reasons he gave seem to be based on them wanting to do the story behind the suit justice. From the sound of that explanation, it makes it sound like it could indeed be part of a potential sequel.
“I think something like that suit (symbiote suit) deserves its day in the spotlight. I think just making it an unlockable suit wouldn’t be doing it justice. It’s one of the best stories for Spider-Man. I think it’s a complex story. And I think it’s a story that needs to be told, and it needs to be told the way Insomniac would tell it.”
While it may seem pre-mature to speculate, the statements by Intihar would make even the most laidback fan assume that the symbiotic suit will be making an appearance and most likely in the inevitable sequel. This should make everyone happy, when and if it happens.
