As we get closer to production on Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to start in February.
We broke news back in September that the show was looking to cast a Chinese American for the role of Theo Chow, we now think the role could actually be for Blindspot. Since then more casting news has broke, ScreenGeek has reported several characters looking to be cast.
See the list below
[FREYA] Female, 30s, any ethnicity. Thoughtful, warm, and naturally curious.
[HARRY] Male, 30s, any ethnicity. Intense and inscrutable.
[JOSY] Female, 20s, Black. Brash, brilliant political blogger.
[CASSANDRA] Female, 40s, Black. A Woman of self-made success. Loyal but can be ruthless if crossed.
[OLIVIA] Female, 40s, South Asian. Confident and knowledgeable with a willingness to speak her mind.
[BAILEY] Female, 30s, any ethnicity. Principled and decisive with a brilliant mind.
Right now these names could mean nothing right now and could just be codenames. But some new details for Daredevil: Born Again have surfaced today from Daniel Richtman. It looks as though they are casting for Wilson Fisk’s mayoral team. That’s right…The Kingpin is running for Mayor! Part of the storyline for the 18-episode series will focus on Wilson Fisk running for Mayor of New York City. Could the names mentioned above be part of Fisk’s mayoral team?
Kingpin will probably only play a part of the storyline as there are reports Punisher will make an appearance and rumors that Jessica Jones and Bullseye might show up as well.
There are rumors ongoing that Marvel’s Echo series is going through production issues and that the show might be delayed, re-shot, or even cancelled.
NEW: Not the best news to bring you: we’ve heard #ECHO is also likely to get pushed back as they reevaluate the production of the Disney+ series. The silver lining is, Marvel Studios is holding these productions to a higher standard. pic.twitter.com/0LNBY1agPt

While none of this is confirmed it could change the direction of Daredevil: Born Again as Matt Murdock and Kingpin are to a play a role in the Echo storyline which would have lead into Daredevil: Born Again.
Charlie Cox has said that the version of Daredevil will be a new take with new stories and new characters that separate if from the Netflix version. Cox even adds that old stories told might be made again as well.
“And, in a way, what’s great about that is that we potentially get to tell some of the stories over and over again in the same way that they do in the comics, you know. Every now and again, they start back at the beginning of Murdock’s journey as a little boy and they tell the whole origin story again. So maybe we’ll get to do that, I don’t know.”
Cox has also made it clear that Born Again is not a 4th season of the series.
It is a Season 1, it is not Season 4, so it is a whole new thing,” Cox said back in September. “Which I think is the way to go. If you are going to do it again, do it differently.”
The Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to be released in early 2024.
