Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to chat with Wandering Planet Toys founders Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Gavin Hignight about their latest Kickstarter campaign: The Planetoid Raiders. With the campaign in full swing and their initial funding goal nearly reached, the Planetoid Raiders team discovered another way to raise the stakes.
Indie rapper WORDBURGLAR, famous for his witty comic book-inspired lyrics, is joining forces with Wandering Planet Toys to bring fresh energy to their Planetoid Raiders action figure line. The collaboration includes a song, a music video, and a brand-new figure! This exciting news is revealed in their latest press release:

The Planetoid Raiders! Raiding Planetoids!
Resistance is futile! Something that you can’t avoid!
(October 01, 2026) The prolific rapper and universally acclaimed creator known as the Wordburglar is back with an all-new track: WORDBURGLAR’S PLANETOID RAIDERS rap. “Planetoid Raiders: Recordor’s Warning.” This incredible, intergalactic song is a searing sonic testament to the power of The Planetoid Raiders, a line of retro-style action figures now funding on Kickstarter from Wandering Planets Toys. Wordburglar also teamed up with Wandering Planet Toys co-founders Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Gavin Hignight to design his own limited edition Planetoid Raider figure, RECORDOR. Fans can listen to WORDBURGLAR’S PLANETOID RAIDERS rap on Bandcamp and YouTube and support the action figures on Kickstarter!
“Wordburglar is the perfect artist to provide a track for the PLANETOID RAIDERS,” said Doc Wyatt. “His playful and fast-paced music captures the imaginative spirit of these toys. With his clever wordplay and catchy cadence, the Wordburglar is the perfect ambassador for the Planetoid Raiders. And like Neal Adams, he talks in the third person. It’s pitch perfect.”
“If you’re on a planetoid you can’t avoid The Planetoid Raiders,” said the Wordburglar. “Wordburglar has travelled across the cosmos to rhyme the alarm bells with this intergalactically catchy cautionary tale full of strange star-beings, antisocial androids and klepto-terrestrials!”
“My mind is still blown from the time Wordburglar dropped Rap Viper on all of us. He is a treasure and his rhymes are celebrated throughout the known universe!” said Gavin Hignight. “There is no one better to put the Planetoid Raiders on the interstellar map.”
The Wordburglar has produced the fandom anthems “SpaceVerse”, “Burgonomic” and the G.I.Joe-inspired concept album “Welcome To Cobra Island.” He created the theme song for the Mystic Cosmic Patrol web series. And he even voiced Starscope in the animated show Transformers: Botbots!
WORDBURGLAR’S “Planetoid Raiders: Recordor’s Warning” is the third original song created especially for this ambitious line of action figures, along with Nashville-based singer-songwriter Johnathan Pushkar’s theme song and elle AVA’s “Love Theme From Planetoid Raiders.”
Inspired by Kenner Toys’ 1978 Star Wars action figures, and their off-the-wall competitor Tomland Toys’ Starroid Raiders – each PLANETOID RAIDER is a lovingly designed tribute to classic scifi toys and a striking piece of contemporary art. Fans can collect each limited edition, 5-point articulated, 1:18 Scale figure on Kickstarter, including brave Captain Oton, heroic Helmsman Ryot, WarLor the Mysterious Space Traveler, the trusty rusty robot Yogun, and the rest of the team. The figures in PLANETOID RAIDERS: Wave 1 will be available on retro-inspired card backs or pre-packed in a metal lunchbox-style collector’s case, with art from renowned Los Angeles horror artist Bill Rude. Wandering Planet Toys is also creating an 8 page “Sloog Interlude” mini-comic titled written by Chris “Doc” Wyatt with art by Chris Anderson (American Caper) available exclusively through the Kickstarter campaign.
Fans can support the PLANETOID RAIDERS on Kickstarter now. Don’t miss Wandering Planet Toys’ new YouTube Channel, and be sure to follow Wandering Planet Toys on X, Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook for more updates.
