The X-Men are officially storming the MCU! Marvel Studios has dropped the highly anticipated third teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, spotlighting the emotional return of Fox-era mutants – and it’s giving fans everything they’ve begged for after 20+ years.

After leaking online last week, the official X-Men-focused teaser is here, showcasing Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and James Marsden as Cyclops gearing up for war against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Teaser Breakdown: A Somber Send-Off for the Fox X-Men

The minute-long clip opens with haunting shots of the ruined X-Mansion (Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters). We see Professor X and Magneto reunited in a poignant moment – playing telekinetic chess, holding hands, and sharing knowing smiles amid the destruction.

Magneto’s grave voiceover sets the tone: “Death comes for us all. It’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t, ‘Are you prepared to die?’ The question is, ‘Who will you be when you close your eyes?’”

The money shot? A battle-worn Cyclops (face smeared with mud and blood) ripping off his visor and unleashing a raging optic blast into the sky – all while massive Sentinel legs stomp in the background. And yes, Scott is finally rocking a comic-accurate blue-and-yellow suit inspired by Jim Lee’s legendary ’90s design!

Why This Feels Like a Final Farewell

Before Marvel launches its full X-Men reboot (potentially redefining Phase 7+), Doomsday appears to be giving these beloved Fox versions one epic, multiversal send-off. Rumors suggest a devastating battle at the X-Mansion, possibly with Doom controlling the Sentinels – leading to heavy losses for the mutants.

Joining Stewart, McKellen, and Marsden are other Fox alumni: Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and Channing Tatum (Gambit).

Avengers: Doomsday assembles Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against Doctor Doom on December 18, 2026.
