Year of the Devil has reached its funding goal, and its creators are using the campaign’s final stretch to share a few more reasons for comic fans to take a look. The supernatural action graphic novel, co-created by Danny Trejo, Keith Arem and Chris Yates, is still available to back on BackerKit through November 2.
The team says its special Leather Edition will be limited to 1,000 copies. Another bonus ashcan cover is also on the way, though the creators have not yet revealed the artwork. A celebratory livestream is planned for Monday, November 2, as the campaign wraps.
A Five-Issue Supernatural Action Graphic Novel
Year of the Devil follows Diego, a cursed warrior who is reborn across centuries and made to battle the Devil and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. BackerKit describes the project as a five-issue, 150-plus-page graphic novel blending supernatural horror and action.
Italian artist Frank Mazzoli illustrates the book, with a main cover by Dan Quintana. The campaign features multiple editions, covers and collector rewards. Its current BackerKit page shows the project above its $70,000 goal, with the campaign set to close November 2 at 4 a.m. UTC.
The creators say the limited-edition printing will not be reproduced. Readers interested in the Leather Edition or other campaign rewards can view the available pledges and back the book on BackerKit.
GVN previously covered another PCB Entertainment graphic novel with our preview of Frost Road.
The creators also say more announcements are planned after the campaign ends. The Monday livestream is intended as a celebration with backers, but the team has not shared a time or viewing link in its update.
