Zac Efron’s Ted Bundy Film Gets Snatched up by Netflix

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14861″ img_size=”950×478″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Netflix recently released the Ted Bundy tapes and it seems they’re on the track of highlighting the infamous serial killer with their recent purchase of the Zac Efron led drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile. The film originally premiered at Sundance and now the streaming giant has snatched it up for $9 million, according to sources.

This drama is directed by Joe Berlinger and chronicles Ted Bundy’s crimes, all from the perspective of his once longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloeper. For years, Kloeper refused to believe what Bundy had actually done. According to THR’s Todd McCarthy, in reference to the film; he states:

“Efron flies higher than ever here, investing his character with an illusory confidence that’s entertaining even when the character and legal charges fully live up to the film’s title.”

There has been some controversy lately about the focus on Ted Bundy and his heinous acts, while others believe it’s important to explore the twisted psyche of the man, while also serving as a cautionary tale. Either way, Efron is getting rave reviews for his performance and this should hopefully help usher him into a more serious platform for him to obtain roles going forward.
