During the Man of Steel watch party, Zack Snyder was joined by Henry Cavill and several fans who asked questions about the movie. One fan stepped up and asked the question we all wanted to hear, “When would we see the Snyder Cut?”. Of course Zack played it off and said he had no control over when it could be released only to drop a massive bomb on fans. It is happening and it is coming to HBOMax in 2021.
Zack got a call from his agent saying Toby Emmerich wanted to speak to Zack. Emmerich told Zack
“This is real. People out there want it. Would you guys ever consider doing something?”
The film will cost about $20-30M to finish and right now the details of the release vary from a 4 hour long movie to a possible 6 chapter cut. Snyder says this version will be entirely new and unlike what we have seen so far.
“It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie,”
“You probably saw one-fourth of what I did,”
Zack showed the film to a select group of executives in February from WB, HBOMax and DC. After the screening Snyder outlined to them how it could be released and even gave ideas for episodes and cliffhangers. Snyder contacted Ray Fisher and others to let them know they might be needed to shoot additional scenes. Zack said Ray reacted like ‘You’re kidding me, right?’
Zack is currently finishing up Army of the Dead so there is no time frame for when work on Justice League will happen. But is happening!!
Fans can finally give a big sigh of relief and no that their voices where heard and that this did not go unnoticed.
Zack also shared this about the cut

“This return to that pedigree and to let my singular vision of my movie be realized, in this format, in this length, is unprecedented and a brave move.”
