This morning, the nominations for 94th annual Academy Awards, honoring the best films of 2021, were announced by actors Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross. Netflix’s The Power of the Dog received the most nominations with 12, including Best Picture and double nominations for Best Supporting Actor. Dune and West Side Story also scored multiple nominations, with 10 and 7 respectively. Jane Campion is the first woman to be nominated for Best Director twice (she was previously nominated in 1993 for The Piano). Flee became the first film to be nominated for Best Documentary Feature, Best International Feature, and Best Animated Feature in the same year.
The Academy Awards will air on March 27th on ABC at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST. A host has yet to be announced.
