I cannot contain my excitement for the news I am about to break to you!! In an official statement from STARZ, American Gods has announced the premiere date for their second season. Drum roll please!
March 10th at 8 pm! For those who don’t have a calendar in front of you, that’s on a Sunday and officially, only three months away! Season two will be available on the STARZ app the same day of its release and will consist of eight episodes released on a weekly basis. On top of this, season one will be showing in an all-day binge-athon with live tweets on the “Holy Day Binge” on Saturday, December 29th, which will begin at 12pmPT/3pmET.
Taking place after season one’s explosive season finale, the battle will move on where gods and men collide. We’ll see Mr. World plotting revenge in response to the attack in season one’s finale, Shadow making his stake with Mr. Wednesday, and Laura and Mad Sweeney in tow of the former’s journey to bring in the Old Gods for this war. We’ll see New Gods and Old Gods on a quest that will bring them to Cairo, Illinois.
American Gods consists of: Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Pablo as Mad Sweeney, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, Bruce Langley as Tech Boy, Mousa Kraish as The Jinn, Omid Abtahi as Salim and Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis. Guest stars include Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare as Czernobog, and joining Season Two are Sakina Jaffrey as Mama-Ji’, Dean Winters as Mr. Town, Devery Jacobs as Sam Black Crow and Kahyun Kim as New Media.
American Gods was written by Neil Gaiman himself, which should be a familiar name for any lover of comics and literature.
