Among Us 2 Canceled Due to First Games Popularity

Normally, when a sequel to something is canceled it’s because the previous iteration is bad. In the case of Among Us, the game is so popular that the developers have decided to cancel a planned sequel. InnerSloth had previously announced the sequel thirty-six days ago. Why are they walking back on this? The developer explained:

“The main reason we [were] shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content,” InnerSloth said in a blog post. “However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level.”

They added:

“All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1.”

Among Us grew in popularity due to it being played often by twitch streamers. Some of those things include promised fixes for any server issues, colorblind support, new stages, and a friends system.
