Amy Adams Says DCEU Is Being “Revamped”

Since last November the rumors of a ‘reboot’ for the DCEU have been running rampant. Despite the lingering talks of a reboot, things at Warner Bros. and DC seem to be going business as usual. Aquaman is out now in select countries and so far seems to be a strong entry to the DC Extended Universe. Shazam is set to debut in April, Gal is hard at work on Wonder Woman 1984 and Margot Robbie is set to begin work on Birds of Prey next month.

Some questions still remain though as films like The Flash, Batman and Superman seem to have lost momentum at the studio based on a report from Deadline. We know The Flash has been delayed so Ezra can finish Fantastic Beasts 3. Reeves is still working hard on the Batman script and all signs point to Affleck not coming back as Batman, for now at least. Henry’s contract negotions with Warner Bros. seem to have hit a dead end and chances of him coming back as Superman grow slimmer by the day. Cavill has for now moved on to film The Witcher but I for one hope we haven’t seen him suited up as Superman for the last time.

With all that, Amy Adams who plays Lois Lane spoke in an interview for Variety with Aquaman co-star Nicole Kidman about her role in the DCEU and she has a very bleak outlook on her chances of coming back

“I think I’m out of the DC Universe now. I think they’re revamping that. I don’t know the details.”

The state of DC right now despite all this seems very bright. As stated we have some potentially great films on the horizon and the studio has even talked about doing female led films such as Zatanna, Supergirl, Batgirl and today THR reported that a Plastic Man Film is in the works. Ava Duvernay is working on New Gods, a Blue Beetle film is in the works and Warner Bros. is still in talks to develop a Booster Gold film.

Hearing words like revamp might scare some of you and honestly a DCEU without Cavill and Adams will be hard to imagine but in the end things change and all we can do is hope that WB makes the right changes going forward.
