Anthony Mackie Says There’s “Little Stuff to Do” Before Completing The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Show

Recently, Anthony Mackie spoke with Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show to update fans on the status of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Show for Disney+. As if there were any doubts, Mackie confirmed that the upcoming series is “not canceled”. Just on hold, as everything else is since the COVID-19 disease hit the world and everything’s been on lockdown.

“WELL, I’M HAPPY TO SAY, WE ARE NOT CANCELLED, WE ARE ON HOLD. SO WE’RE GOING BACK HOPEFULLY SOMETIME SOON AND FINISH IT UP. WE HAVE VERY LITTLE STUFF TO DO. I’M VERY HAPPY WITH IT. WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT MORE WE CAN GO BACK AND DO BUT EVERYBODY REST ASSURED, IT WILL COME OUT. WE ARE NOT CANCELLED.”

The Murphy’s Multiverse wrote an article to clarify some things because apparently there was some confusion surrounding Mackie’s statement. To echo what was written on Murphy’s site, the show was filming for about five months before having to shut down. Despite this, the “very little stuff” Mackie is referring to can still take several weeks. This means filming, stunt work, and the of course, post-production. Editing, etc. So, it’s not like we’re going to get the show just two weeks after everything can resume filming.

It should also be kept in mind that just because lockdown rules are starting to lift doesn’t mean it won’t get shut down again. The WHO is even predicting a second wave of COVID-19, especially as everyone starts leaving their homes again. So, listen, there’s a whole article on speculation on Murphy’s Multiverse. It really boils down to no one knows exactly when we are going to see The Falcon show, the WandaVision show, or anything. There’s still much to do, even if Mackie said: “very little to do”. And there’s a whole lot of other things that need to be done before we see the show on Disney+. The safety of everyone involved needs to be taken into account. So, filming may take longer than usual to ensure everyone’s health.

As soon as we have more concrete updates, we will let you know.
