Aquaman’s Official Credits List Zack and Deborah Snyder as Executive Producers

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As we get closer and closer to Aquaman’s official release, new details have come to light about the release as we get a peek of the films credits as seen on on the film’s posters and publicity documents.

The film’s official website has posted this information that includes the names of executive producers, which include Zack and Deborah Snyder. This will come as good news to those who believe that the Snyders’ involvement can only mean good things for the film.

In all reality, this should not come as a huge surprise as the Snyders have produced every DC Extended Universe film made to this point. However, considering rumors concerning exactly what Zack’s role is in the greater DC film universe, it is a relief for those fans who worried to see the Snyder’s name in conjunction with Aquaman.

In addition, as two of the main cast members tell it, Aquaman might not have happened at all (at least with the present cast) without Snyder’s recruitment of them. Jason Momoa explains:

“… Zack is someone who kind of saved my life. This opportunity to be where I am is all because of him. So if you like Aquaman, you can pretty much thank Zack Snyder instantly, because none of it would’ve come true if it weren’t for him. [His reaction when Snyder approached him for the role] I was in shock because I know what Aquaman originally looked like,” Momoa said. “[Snyder] really liked what I did with Game of Thrones, and he really wanted someone who’s a bit of an outlaw. someone who’s an outsider, you know, or half and half. He knew that I was from Hawaii and raised in Iowa.”

The same can be said for Amber Heard, who will star as the female lead Mera. Heard also reported in an earlier interview that she has Snyder to thank for inticing her to take on the role.

“I’m allergic to being the damsel, the two-dimensional archetype of what women are often limited to in this industry, especially in the superhero world,” Heard explained in an earlier interview. “Zack got me at ‘warrior queen.’ He said, ‘You get a sword and a crown,’ and I’m like, ‘Okay.’”

Does the appearance of the Snyder name on the Executive Producers credits give you cause for hope or were you already in the deep end of the ocean for this project based on the trailer? Send out your call like we’re the “denizens of the deep” and let us know at GVNation.
