In said film Armie Hammer was cast to play Batman but sadly and maybe to some thankfully that movie never saw the light of day, though there are several images from test shots on the internet. A recent report from our friends at Revenge of the Fans had Hammer on WB’s list to play Batman in the upcoming Matt Reeves film. Despite many coming out to support the potential casting it seems that Hammer will not be playing Batman any time soon if ever. TMZ caught up with Hammer and asked him about the rumors
“Are you the new Batman Armie?” to which he said “No. When asked if he could confirm it Hammer said, “I can’t”. He was then asked if he’s denying it for real and he said “Yes!” After that, the TMZ cameraman asked “how about if I see you with a cape”, to which Hammer responded, “then you’ll know I’m lying.”

Hammer does love to play mind games and he and Henry Cavill had a few laughs at fans expense when both teased he could potentially play Green Lantern. For now fans should prepare themselves for an entirely different name to revealed once the time is right unless this is some huge swerve by Hammer, which I am sure it is not. Hammer is on the short list to possibly play in the Invisible Man film which was reported yesterday.
