Assassin’s Creed 3 Remaster is Making It’s Way to Steam and Uplay

The Uplay store has now been officially updated with the original Assassin’s Creed 3 being removed to make space for the newly released remaster.

It’s a similar story over on Steam too, however, whilst the games original version page is still up, the ability to purchase it is gone with the message “Notice: At the request of the publisher, Assassin’s Creed® III is no longer available for sale on Steam.”. Whilst it is a shame too lose the original versions of these games in favor of better, but also more expensive, ones you can see why publishers would want to reduce any confusion players may be feeling if they see two versions of the same game. It would suck to accidentally buy the wrong version of the game you wanted to play.

luckily, from what I’ve seen and heard there is no real reason to want to play the original AC3. Whilst the game has it’s passionate defenders it is considered controversial inside the Assassin’s Creed fandom but no one can deny the remaster’s impressive advancements.

You can now free-aim with your bow and your pistols not only giving the player more freedom of choice in combat but also making hunting that little bit easier and arguably more fun. There’s also now low-profile double assassinations, a feature that was absent from the original and now the ability to whistle from tall grass and haystacks to attract guards over for a silent kill opening up even more stealth opportunities.

The game has also had some pretty major visual updates from character models to overall textures and lighting and some much needed HUD and minimap improvements.

The game launched on March 29th and thanks to the Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey season pass I have the remaster downloaded right now but unfortunately, am yet to play it. If you’ve been revisiting AC3 or diving in for the first time give us your thoughts on the game down below or over on Twitter.
