Assassin’s Creed is a franchise that has been around for over a decade, and it has seen many iterations over the years. From the heights of the Ezio trilogy to the lows of Assassin’s Creed Unity, the series has had its ups and downs. However, one thing has remained constant – the games always make a lot of money for Ubisoft. Despite this, the publisher has been making some changes to the series in recent years.
One of the most significant changes has been the move away from annual releases. Instead of churning out a new Assassin’s Creed game every year, Ubisoft has opted to take its time between releases. This has allowed the developers to focus on making each game the best it can be, rather than rushing it out the door. The result has been some of the best games in the series to date, such as Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Another change has been the move away from the modern-day storyline. In the early games, the modern-day storyline was an integral part of the experience. However, as the series has progressed, it has become less and less important. In the most recent games, it has taken more of a backseat, with players spending the majority of their time in the historical settings.
The next entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, looks to be taking the series back to its roots. According to reports, the game will be smaller in scope and not as sprawling as the previous entries. This is a welcome change for fans who felt that the series had become bloated and overly complicated in recent years.
However, there hasn’t been much news about the game since it was first revealed. All we know is that it’s slated for release in 2023, but we don’t have a specific date yet. According to insider Tom Henderson, the game was originally scheduled for release in August, but has now been delayed internally until October.
It seems like AC Mirage has been internally delayed from August to October. Nexus, AC's VR offering has also been delayed a couple of months.

This delay isn’t a huge surprise, as the series has often released its games in the fall. However, it does put the game in a busier time slot. August is typically a quiet month for new game releases, which would have given Assassin’s Creed Mirage a chance to shine. Releasing in October means that it will be competing with other big releases, such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.
Of course, this is all speculation at this point. The game hasn’t been officially delayed, and we don’t have a specific release date yet. However, if the game is delayed, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. As we’ve seen with previous Assassin’s Creed games, taking the time to make the game the best it can be is always worth it in the end.
Fans of the series will undoubtedly be eager for more news about Assassin’s Creed Mirage. With any luck, we’ll hear more about the game’s release date this summer. In the meantime, we can only speculate about what the game will bring to the table. One thing is for sure, though – the Assassin’s Creed franchise isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
