Why? Well, the universe that the series takes place within was originally created by author Richard K. Morgan. Within this world, taking place hundreds of years in the future, people live in “sleeves” aka bodies that are not theirs. Kinnaman’s body was just a “sleeve” for the character, who has gone through many skins throughout his few hundreds of years of existing. To maintain the premise and idea of the show, Kinnaman knew that being brought back…

When the EW cover of the upcoming Aladdin movie by Guy Ritchie dropped on social media, people had a lot to say. Not necessarily good though. Whereas the Lion King trailer received praise, this tease to the live-action version of a Disney classic animated film is not feeling the love. One of the biggest critiques? Will Smith as the Genie. The role was made famous by the late Robin Williams, who ad-lipped most of the lines, and James Monroe Iglehart for Broadway’s version of Aladdin. The biggest criticism, though; for Smith’s rendition seems to be the fact that he’s not…

Gary Dauberman joins Wan and Mark Verheiden in this new series about the transformation of Alec Holland into Swamp Thing. Wan teases that there will be more creatures than just the title character: “Of course, that’s part of the appeal. I have an amazing team of showrunners and writers on this. Just like I was with Aquaman, we’re very respectful to the source material with…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12018″ img_size=”400×600″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]From DC Comics comes a story not of men in capes or women with superpowers. American Carnage is real. It’s every day. This gritty tale comes from the minds of Bryan Edward Hill and Leandro Fernandez, where Richard Wright finds his way into a group of white-nationalists, which should already have you on edge. Every panel feels as if you’re walking on egg-shells and you aren’t sure whether Wright has been made or not. American Carnage #2 paints a picture of a world that we all know exists and we’re seeing frequently on the news. Just the title…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12005″ img_size=”400×600″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]New creative team DeConnick and Rocha bring us Aquaman #43 right before the premiere of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, which is expected to do very well. There’s even a page in the issue with Aquaman swimming alongside Mera who both are identical to Momoa and Amber Heard. The rest of the issue, though; has a more “traditional” looking Arthur Curry, with long blonde hair, and not at all similar to his live-action counterpart. Aquaman #43 reads like an old fisherman’s tale, with an Arthur Curry living in a cabin near the sea, occupied by other displaced people. Known as Andy…

When we began 2018, no one probably thought that we would see Disney fire one of its most prominent directors. Alas, James Gunn has been removed from the MCU and his third Guardians of the Galaxy movie is in limbo. https://twitter.com/slashfilm/status/1074458868590264320 Gunn had previously written a script for the third installment, which now is gaining traction as it seems there have been a select few who have read the script and it reportedly moved them to tears. Not only do we have the Fox and Disney deal finalizing, but Disney is rolling out their own streaming service, Disney+. For the Marvel fans, this streaming service has been both a blessing and a curse. While we’ll be getting nice goodies such as a Loki and Scarlet Witch series, we also are seeing the crash and burn of the Marvel shows on Netflix. Two of the most beloved showed, Luke Cage and Daredevil; were recently canceled and it stands to reason that The…

The Fast & Franchise shows no signs of slowing down. Despite beginning in 2001 and lasting the past seventeen years, the movie will be getting its first spinoff with Hobbs and Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson in his reprisal as Luke Hobbs. Shaw will be Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, as the two of them join together in a sort of mismatched adventure to fight against a foe who threatens the safety of society. Another inclusion into Hobbs & Shaw is Eiza Gonzalez, who gained popularity after last year’s Baby Driver, where she played Darling opposite of Jon Hamm’s Buddy. Now, Johnson…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”11971″ img_size=”900×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It’s been ten years and nearly twenty movies and the MCU shows no signs of stopping. Though there is not much known about the movies that will come after Avengers: Endgame, one of them will be a Black Widow standalone film. The call for a Natasha Romanoff movie has been in demand since the character was first introduced in Iron Man 2, back when he had even less kick-ass women in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Captain Marvel, Okoye, Scarlet Witch, the Dora Milaje, and other bad-ass women in the Marvel Universe, the call for Black Widow…
