While this is not a huge property like Batman or Superman where the average person would know these characters, this is exactly why you bring in someone as great as DuVernay to make the public aware of them. After all, James Wan stepped in and made Aquaman one of the most badass superheroes to hit the big screen where before he was nothing more than a punchline.
New Gods was created by legendary Jack Kirby in the 1970’s and deals with rich mythology, which should be great to see on-screen. According to We Got This Covered, the plotline is as follows:
“…the plot will mainly focus on Mister Miracle and Big Barda trying to escape the hellish planet known as Apokolips. Furthermore, the politics and conflicts between Apokolips and its rival world, New Genesis, will provide added weight to the storyline.” – We Got This Covered revealed.
