Ava DuVernay gives a script update for ‘New Gods’

With Joker doing great things at the box office, and Wonder Woman ‘1984’ coming up, DC films is continuing to push forward. Birds of Prey, and Suicide Squad is still on the horizon. Meanwhile, Ava DuVernay‘s New God film is also under production. Well, at least the script is still being worked on.

With that in mind, Director and script writer was asked recently via Twitter how the script was progressing. In reference to the script by her and comic veteran writer Tom King, she replied:

like [Big] Barda in a battle”, “strong and fearing no man”.

For those unfamiliar, New Gods tells the story of the residents of New Genesis and Apokolips. These are twin planets that are engaged in an epic cosmic war. With scripting still underway, details around the film’s plot are sketchy at best. However, DuVernay had previously confirmed that Darkseid, the tyrannical ruler of Apokolips would be featured. In addition, the Female Furies, a group of women warriors, would definitely make an appearance.
