B.J. Novak’s series Platform has been given the green light for a pilot episode by FX Networks. Novak’s Platform will be a half-hour anthology pilot that he wrote, directed, and executive produced. According to Deadline, filming started a days ago.
Joining Novak’s pilot will be Jon Bernthal, Lucas Hedges, Kaitlyn Dever, Boyd Holbrook, O’Shea Jackson Jr., George Wallace, and Ed Asner. Each actor will appear in the pilot. A few others have deals being finalized.
The anthological series will use “the boldest issues of our times as a jumping-off point to tell singular, character-driven stories about the world we live in today.” – Deadline.
The plan is to film two episodes. Each will be different in tone. One will be dramatic and tackle a tough subject. The other will be comedic with a small animation element.
