[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12723″ img_size=”645×370″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We got some great Batman news to share today …. NO, it is not Matt Reeves Batman news but it is cool Batman news none the less. Our hardworking friend over at Revenge of the Fans, Mario F. Robles, has heard through the scoop grape vine that DC is working on adapting the “Batman: The Long Halloween” series into an animated film. The Long Halloween is the continuation of “Batman: Year One” and was the inspiration for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight films. The story revolves around Batman’s enemies going from mob bosses to supervillains and shows the rise of Harvey Dent as Two-Face. Calendar Man, The Joker, The Riddler, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow and Poison Ivy all make an appearance in The Long Halloween.

Revenge of the Fans has shared a synopsis:

“Christmas. St. Patrick’s Day. Easter. As the calendar’s days stack up, so do the bodies littered in the streets of Gotham City. A murderer is loose, killing only on holidays. The only man that can stop this fiend? The Dark Knight. In a mystery taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, Batman: The Long Halloween is one of the greatest Dark Knight stories ever told.

Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer, this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman’s deadly enemy, Two-Face.“

Mario has also been able to get a list of the voice cast for the film and I think many will recognize several of the names joining the film.

The amazing voice cast includes Troy Baker, Naya Rivera, Titus Welliver, David Dastmalchian and ….. Drum Roll Please! … JENSEN ACKLES!! Yes Red Hood himself is returning to the DC Universe. Who could he be voicing? Batman, Two-Face? Who knows!

Maybe not the news you wanted but this should be something to look forward to. Do you have any guesses to who the cast mentioned might be playing? How excited are you to have Jensen Ackles joining the film? Please share your thoughts and comments with us below.
