In order to continue to meet fans needs for behind the scenes information, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Taopoulos shared a behind-the-scenes image on instagram of a Kent family portrait in their home. The portrait featured Kevin Costner and Diane Lane who play Clark Kent’s own adoptive parents in the film. Portraits like this are just one of many details that were spread throughout Batman v Superman set. The production team hoped that elements like this would help build continuity for the cinematic DC universe that was re-introduced after Man of Steel. Although the portrait was absent from any of the main shots in the final theatrical cut, it was meant to show the importance of family for the Kent’s. Sharp eyed fans tend to notice such details, especially once the digital and blu-ray versions are released. Is this of any real importance or as they say, “ is the devil in the details?
