Josh Gad and Luke Evans will return as Gaston and LeFou in a Disney+ prequel series. The limited series will come from the Once Upon a Time creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Gad is the co-creator, writer, and showrunner.
The prequel series will center around the two characters from the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast. Expect a six-episode musical event; Alan Menken is in talks to return. The series will take place before the film and expand the universe of Beauty and the Beast. While no other characters are set to come back, sources say that perhaps there will be a cameo.
Beauty and the Beast came out in 2017 and went on to earn $1.26 billion at the box office. The film starred Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast.
