Ben Affleck May Not Be Batman, But He’d Like to Direct a DC Movie

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17347″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While Ben Affleck has confirmed that he is no longer portraying Batman, it seems that the actor doesn’t wish to step away from the DC universe. During an interview with LADbible, he stated that he wouldn’t mind directing and considering that the actor has a few great directing roles under his belt, this wouldn’t be a bad idea. Especially when you consider that when he first signed on for the DCEU, he was supposed to write and direct a Batman movie, on top of staring in it.

“I imagine it would be weird to step in and do another character. I can certainly imagine directing a movie, you know – if they [DC] would have me – if it was something I was passionate about. It’s not about like kind of closing doors on stuff, I just couldn’t figure out how I wanted to do that one [next Batman film], so it became time to let someone else take a crack at it.”

While the news may disappoint some that Affleck has stepped away from Batman, it should be noted that it’s admirable that when an actor or director sees that they wouldn’t be able to give the audience the best that they are not too proud to hand the project over to someone else. And if DC will consider it, maybe they should let him have a crack at least directing a movie for another character.

If Affleck did direct, which movie in the DCEU would you like for it to be?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
