Ben Barnes Will Not Return for Westworld Season Three

Fans of Westworld received a shocking revelation in season one. Jimmi Simpson’s William and Ben Barnes’ Logan scenes were all set in the past. Ed Harris played William aka the Man in Black during the current timeline. The second shocker was in season two when we found on Logan had died at an early age from drug addiction. Considering Barnes was a fan favorite from the HBO series, his character’s short-lived…well, life really was a bummer. But, we did see a version of Logan in season two’s finale. Considering this is a world where robots aka hosts can exist and be sentient, fans wondered if we’d see Barnes return in some capacity for Westworld season three.

Barnes, though; thinks his character’s story has ended:

“I think I’m definitely dead. It felt pretty definitive the last time.”

I can’t help, but echo what I said before. Bummer. While the series has many fantastic characters such as Bernard, Dolores, Hector, Maeve, and so many others, Logan was the lovable a**hole. Not to mention, I feel like season two was the death of two of my favorite actors – Barnes and Gustaf Skarsgard.

Regardless, Westworld is known for pulling the rug out from under us. After all, Anthony Hopkins returned for season two despite his character having been killed in season one’s finale. Whether Barnes knows it or not, perhaps he’ll be asked to be brought back in for a scene from the past.

What are your hopes for season three?
