PPop culture quiz scene with a clapperboard, television, and question mark for movie and TV trivia

Every week, Microsoft slips a short pop culture test into its Rewards program. It is officially called the Bing Entertainment News Quiz, and it asks three multiple-choice questions about the past week’s movies, TV, music and sports headlines. Get them right and you collect Microsoft Rewards points. Get them wrong and, well, you find out how closely you were really following the news.

We went back through the recent rounds of the Bing Entertainment Quiz from August and September 2026 and picked the ten questions that matter most to movie, TV and music fans. No sports this time: just streaming premieres, Emmy winners, sequels and chart-toppers. Grab a pen, keep score, and check the answer key at the end. No peeking.

    The Questions

    1. Which Pixar sequel began streaming on Disney+?

    1. Inside Out 2
    2. Toy Story 5
    3. Cars 3

    2. Which singer released the single “Patient Zero”?

    1. Sabrina Carpenter
    2. Olivia Rodrigo
    3. Taylor Swift

    3. Who directed the new Resident Evil film released in U.S. theaters?

    1. Zach Cregger
    2. Paul W.S. Anderson
    3. Mike Flanagan

    4. Which series won Outstanding Comedy Series at the 2026 Emmys?

    1. Hacks
    2. Widow’s Bay
    3. Abbott Elementary

    5. Which Hulu comedy returned with all six Season 2 episodes?

    1. Only Murders in the Building
    2. The Bear
    3. Chad Powers

    6. Which Netflix series returned for a second season starring Theo James?

    1. The Gentlemen
    2. Bridgerton
    3. The Diplomat

    7. Which two stars reunited to reprise the Owens sisters in Practical Magic 2?

    1. Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock
    2. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman
    3. Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon

    8. What title did Netflix give its newly ordered Manifest spinoff?

    1. Flight 828 Returns
    2. Manifest: Afterlife
    3. Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery

    9. Which film began streaming on Starz after becoming the highest-grossing biopic worldwide?

    1. Michael
    2. Oppenheimer
    3. Mother Mary

    10. Which song remained at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 16th week?

    1. Father Figure
    2. Choosin’ Texas
    3. Been By Now

    Answer Key

    1. B. Toy Story 5. The latest chapter of Pixar’s oldest franchise began streaming on Disney+, and it opened the September 30 round.
    2. C. Taylor Swift. “Patient Zero” is a Taylor Swift single, which made the two other pop stars on the list very tempting wrong answers.
    3. A. Zach Cregger. Cregger directed the new Resident Evil film that opened in U.S. theaters. Paul W.S. Anderson is the trap here: he steered the earlier live-action films, but not this one.
    4. B. Widow’s Bay. It took Outstanding Comedy Series at the 2026 Emmys. It had also collected eight Emmys during the second Creative Arts ceremony.
    5. C. Chad Powers. Hulu released all six episodes of Season 2 at once.
    6. A. The Gentlemen. The Netflix series came back for a second season with Theo James in the lead.
    7. B. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. The original Owens sisters reunited for Practical Magic 2.
    8. C. Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery. That is the title Netflix gave the newly ordered spinoff of Manifest.
    9. A. Michael. The film became the highest-grossing biopic worldwide and then began streaming on Starz.
    10. B. Choosin’ Texas. The song held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 16th week, an unusually long run at the top.

    How Did You Do?

    • 10/10: You are the friend everyone asks about what to watch next.
    • 7–9: A true pop culture fan. One tricky title or name got away.
    • 4–6: You know the big hits but skip the entertainment news. A few minutes of headlines a week would change that.
    • 0–3: No judgment. Some of these were genuinely sneaky, and the options are designed to look right.

    How the Real Quiz Works

The official round lives on the Microsoft Rewards dashboard and only pays points to players who are signed in with a Microsoft account. It is not a daily game: new rounds have shown up about once a week, and each one asks just three questions. That makes every question count, and it is why the wrong options are so carefully chosen. Pixar sequels, pop stars with big recent singles and Emmy nominees from the same category all appear side by side.

A few habits help a lot:

    • Skim the week’s entertainment headlines before you play. Almost every question is about something that happened in the previous few days.
    • Watch the streaming calendars. New seasons on Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ come up constantly.
    • Glance at the charts and the awards. The Billboard Hot 100 and award shows like the Emmys are favorite sources.
    • Read the question twice. “Directed” versus “starred in”, or “returned” versus “premiered”, is often the whole difference.

Want more practice between rounds? BingQuiz.net, an independent trivia site, publishes a new 10-question entertainment quiz every day built from that week’s news, along with the verified answers to each official round.

However you scored, the good news is that a new round is never more than a week away. See you at the next one.
