Everyone can jump on and experience Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Battle Royal mode for free during April. So, where are we dropping?
Treyarch announced recently that the Battle Royal section of the 2018 shooter will be free to play and available for everyone to try throughout the month of April. If you are on consoles you will need either a PS Plus or Xbox Live subscription and if you search for the Blackout mode in your respective stores the trial should pop right up.
It’s no coincidence that this announcement is coming straight after the reveal of Blackout’s brand new map Alcatraz which went live yesterday for PlayStation and will follow shortly after on Xbox and PC. The map looks to be, as you could have guessed, one giant prison rather than Blackout’s original map which was split into multiple sections and should be familiar ground for long time zombie players. With the new map only just releasing a lot of people are still learning it putting us newer players on a more even playing field.
There’s also a “hardcore” mode for the game if you want to really put yourself to the test. This mode removes the HUD as well as your armor, any vehicles, and the zombies from the map and can also be tried in the April trial.
