‘Black Panther’ Crosses $700 Million at the Box Office

It’s no secret and no surprise that Black Panther was a huge success. The amount of people who made their way to the theaters to support this film was no small number and to gauge the records that Black Panther broke, BP was the first film to break Saudi Arabia’s 35-year movie theater ban, with men and women sitting together. Since Black Panther is still playing in the theaters, it has crossed another milestone, grossing $700 million domestically this weekend. That’s right, 700 million dollars.

Black Panther is the third film ever to pass $700 million, along with being the third highest-grossing film at the domestic box office. In case you were wondering, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avatar are the two films that beat out Black Panther.

Fans had been looking forward to a Black Panther solo film since Chadwick Boseman made his debut as T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War. Black Panther followed T’Challa after the events of Civil War, returning home to Wakanda and taking his place as king. Michael B. Jordan stars as Killmonger, an estranged relative looking to challenge T’Challa for the throne.

You can now watch the film on DVD, Blu Ray, and Digital HD. You can also see Boseman reprise his role as King T’Challa in Avengers: Infinity War, available on Digital HD.
