Black Panther’s Letitia Wright Says She Found Out Shuri Was Dead When She Saw Her Poster

To say that people were floored by the events of the final scene in Avengers: Infinity War, which was Thanos snapping half of the population out of existence; is an understatement. We thought we knew all of those who had turned into dust, but when Marvel dropped character posters of everyone alive and dead (colored posters symbolizing those left alive, grey was dusted), there was one character everyone was shocked to see on a “dead” poster.

Letitia Wright commented on how she, too; was surprised to see her character Shuri as one of the victims of Thanos’s master plan:

“It was surprising. I saw everybody in the colored photos, you know the colored posters, and then I saw myself in grey. And I was like, ‘I just died out of nowhere!’ I think the whole of Twitter was pretty upset so I kind of logged off and didn’t log back on. So I’m waiting to see how that came together and how that panned out tonight.”

Shuri quickly became a fan favorite, so it’d be surprising if the Russo Brothers decided to keep her “dusted” – since it was already a shock to find out she had died anyway. Wright commented on the positive reception she got for Shuri:

“It was a major surprise, one that I thank God for,” Wright continued. “I went to set every day wanting to give my best, wanting to work hard, and to see that result and that love, I didn’t expect it but I thank God for it, and now I feel a part of the family. So hopefully…at the end of this film I’m trying to see what happens. I might not get to continue but we’ll see what happens.”
