Disney officially announced that Black Widow will debut in theaters and on Disney+ on its new release date of July 9th, 2021.
It’s not the first major film the house of mouse has sent to its streaming service, but it’s the first Marvel feature film to debut there. It will be available for $29.99 in Premier Access.
Disney has been making every effort to continue its strong relationship with theaters, and the good news is the box office won’t be completely shut out, as moviegoers will have the option of seeing it on the big screen where theaters are open.
Most importantly, Black Widow can finally debut without an even longer delay. Fans have been waiting long enough to see Natasha Romanoff in action once more, and this announcement ends nearly a year of speculation over where Black Widow will make her solo premiere.
Synopsis: At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.
