[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”27677″ img_size=”600×299″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Hobbs and Shaw undoubtedly referenced some of the previous Fast & Furious films, but they also managed to sneak in a reference to another Jason Statham film – The Italian Job.
During a scene where Hobbs, Shaw, and Hattie enter Shaw’s secret hideout, there’s a ton of fancy sports cars, but the one that sticks out to Hobbs is a Mini Cooper. After Hobbs cracks a joke about it being right for Shaw due to its small size, Shaw replies, “It’s from a job I pulled in Italy.”
Statham played “Handsome Rob” in the 2003 film alongside Mark Walhberg, Edward Norton, and Charlize Theron. Coincidentally, Theron played cyber terrorist hacker Cypher in The Fate of The Furious. She along with Helen Mirren will reprise their roles in Fast 9.
Did anyone else catch this reference? Are there any other references/easter eggs that went unnoticed?
