Bruce Dern To Assume Burt Reynold’s Role in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”7043″ img_size=”948×435″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]With the recent passing of Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds, Quentin Tarantino’s Once upon a time in Hollywood, suddenly had a hole to fill in their cast. They needed to find an actor to assume Reynold’s role of George Spahn, who was the real-life rancher who owned the ranch where Charles Manson and his followers lived in the late 1960s. They have filled that role by bringing in Hollywood veteran Bruce Dern to take his place.

Dern, a long-time friend of the late actor, and a two time Oscar nominee,  is currently working on the feature film, Remember Me in Spain. However, it has been arranged for him to leave early to shoot the film.

Once upon a Time in Hollywood takes place in 1969 and tells the tale of a former TV star named Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) as they navigate through Hollywood and a movie industry that might have passed them by.

Quinten Tarantino is directing while David Heyman, Tarantino, and Shannon McIntosh are producing the film. Sony has tentatively scheduled a release on July 26, 2019.
