Bumblebee Producer Says Movie is Not a Reboot

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”11687″ img_size=”900×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We can all admit that everything we have seen so far in regards to the upcoming Bumblebee movie is gorgeous. Not only does the storyline look exciting, but visually, it’s great to see mass improvements happen in regards to the design of the Transformers. Drifting away from what Michael Bay did, the upcoming movie has the Autobots and Decepticons look similar to their G1 counterparts with some Transformers Prime influence.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura spoke recently about the upcoming movie and looked to dispell the rumors of Bumblebee being a “reboot” of the franchise:

“Reboot, I always hate that word because for one, I’m not sure I really understand what it means,” Di Bonaventura said. “We are going to do another big Transformers movie. It is going to be different than the ones that we’ve done before.”

So, Bumblebee won’t exactly be a reboot, but if the movie does decide to still correlate with the original movies that would mean that the issues from The Last Knight would have to be included and addressed. Including Unicron. Di Bonaventura speaks on this:

“Okay, I’m going to be controversial. I’m not a fan of Unicron. It’s too big. It’s so big it’s beyond any sort of relatable thing I think, for me personally. That doesn’t mean it’s not going to be in the series someday. I don’t know that I’ve thought much about it honestly because we’ve been focused on this movie.”

This would make sense, especially if they wanted to follow a trend of Transformers movies that focus on a singular character more than an entire group. Think small, but you’re able to focus on more details and not get lost within the story. Are you looking forward to Bumblebee, which will hit theaters December 21st?
