Can Anyone Break the Liverpool / Manchester City Stranglehold in the EPL?

The English Premier League is one of the most popular divisions in world soccer. It attracts some of the wealthiest owners and, by association, that factor brings in the top players in the game.

The EPL isn’t, however, one of the most competitive leagues on the planet. In recent seasons, Manchester City and Liverpool have been the dominant clubs and other teams have struggled to keep up. Will the balance of power change in 2022/23?

    The Verdict

There are many ways to predict winners in soccer betting. None of them offer any guarantees but they can provide some useful pointers moving forward. The Poisson Distribution is a form of betting strategy that uses more analysis than most.

By looking closely at previous results, along with other key factors such as goals scored, it’s possible to decide whether odds quoted for an event are sound. When using the Poisson Distribution in the context of the Premier League, we can predict football results with better information at hand.

As far as the sportsbooks are concerned, Manchester City and Liverpool are the teams to beat. The clubs lead the EPL winner market by some margin over the chasing pack, according to odds sourced by SBO.net.

This website takes an in-depth look at all major soccer markets while proving news and opinion stories on this, and other sports. Reviews of the many sportsbooks that link into here are published and it’s also possible to get directly involved.

All sportsbooks are set up to accept new account holders. The registration process is swift and secure and there is likely to be a welcome package to take advantage of. A range of funding options helps players to add the necessary funds to cover those opening bets.

When on board, additional benefits may well include mobile betting, in-play markets and the potential for live streaming sport in return for a funded account. In short, this is the site to follow when it comes to Premier League betting, but can anyone challenge the teams at the top?

    Chelsea’s Challenge

Issues relating to Chelsea’s ownership seemed to derail the club’s season. At an earlier stage in the campaign, it looked as if Thomas Tuchel’s men could genuinely mount a title challenge. Once Roman Abramovich departed, results on the pitch worsened and the Blues eventually had to settle for third place.

With new owners now confirmed, Chelsea is set for a busy transfer window. Tuchel is expected to have a significant budget and they have been linked with a number of high-profile players including the Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

At the same time, the manager will look to solve an issue within the squad by moving on to the unsettled Romelu Lukaku.

If Tuchel spends that money wisely, Chelsea could be title contenders. Players such as Lukaku and Timo Werner have struggled at Stamford Bridge and it’s hard to understand why. If the manager can find signings to hit the ground running, his team will pose a genuine threat.

    Tottenham’s Targets

Some neutral soccer pundits are suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur will put serious pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City next season. It’s worth noting that Spurs were unbeaten against both clubs the last term and they have improved significantly under Antonio Conte.

Tottenham has already been busy in the transfer market with Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma signed up for 2022/23. Conte will want to go deep into the cup competitions while aiming to unsettle Manchester City and Liverpool at the very top.

    The Best of the Rest

Arsenal and Manchester United are two clubs looking to get back to former glories. Both have won the Premier League on multiple occasions but neither has really threatened since United’s last title in 2013.

The Red Devils have a new manager and former Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag is the latest man to take the reins at Old Trafford. He will also be active in the transfer market, but the club doesn’t quite have the budget to compete right now.

Arsenal is also looking to steadily improve and neither team looks quite ready to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool at the very top.
