Captain Marvel 2 has nabbed its director. Nia DaCosta is the director and co-writer for the upcoming Candyman reboot. Now, she will be directing the MCU’s sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel. Nia is also the first ever African American director for Marvel studios. Brie Larson will return as the titular character. It will be interesting and exciting for a horror director to helm the sequel. We’ve seen directors, who have specialized in horror; join the MCU before and have given us great movies.
It had been announced previously that Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck would not return for the sequel. They were the co-directors on Captain Marvel 1. Marvel Studios had previously expressed they wanted to find a female director for the sequel. DaCosta also was behind 2018’s Little Woods.
Are you excited for DaCosta and Larson to be teaming up for Captain Marvel 2?
