So let’s see…A character dies in a movie in a manner that would seem to preclude their return in a later film and low and behold, there they are. This is just an accepted axiom in the genre we all love so much so it doesn’t surprise when actress Cate Blanchett says she would be open to return in the role of Hela as last seen in the end of Thor: Ragnarok. You remember the ending there right? Asgard kind of exploded in a fiery ball. Since she was ON the planet as Sutur plunged his sword deep into the planet, it would be logical to assume she went up with the planet…or did she??

While Blanchett was doing press for her upcoming film, The House with a Clock in the Walls, the talented actress was asked if she would like to return to the MCU  and she stated that she would, Walls star Jack Black, who obviously knows how the genre works, pointed out that you don’t actually SEE Hela die. Writers have had less to work with so it definitely fits in the realm of possibility.

When the interviewer suggested a possible plot line where Hela teamed up with Thanos, Blanchett took it a step further, suggesting she would like to see Thanos and Hela merged together and formed into one. Now THAT would be a badass purple/blue Woman. In another possible twist Blanchett said she be open to seeing Hela turn…nice. After all these years, much stranger things have happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but a NICE Goddess of Death? Would she ask permission before she kills you? Would she promise you would get a lovely funeral service afterward?

You can see Blanchett address the question about perhaps returning as Hela in the video below courtesy of Fandom:

Would you like to see Cate Blanchett reprise her role as Hela Godess of Death? Would you be able to hang with a Hela Godess of Goodness and Light? You be the writer and let us know how YOU would bring the character back, if at all, with us at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
