CBS’ Criminal Minds Will End After Season 15

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”13209″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It’s a show as long as Supernatural and with almost as many cast changes as Law & Order: SVU, but Criminal Minds seems to be coming to an end with the news that the long-running crime show will end after its 15th season. As one of the shows to feature some of the truly demented and harrowing tales of any criminal show out there, all good things must come to an end.

The upcoming 15th season will feature ten episodes and stretch from the 2019-2020 season. CBS’ EVP of current programs, Amy Reisenbach; stated:

“It is the quintessential CBS hit. We are so proud to have aired it. It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television. It’s been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC (Studios).”

Reisenbach also explained the reasoning for the extra season, as opposed to simply ending it at season 14:

“We wanted to make sure Erica had the time and ability to write a season (14) finale that honors the characters and the fans.”

The upcoming season will be “more serialized” according to Reisenbach and will premiere with a two-parter. Season 15 will start filming in spring and there seems that former cast members, like Shemar Moore could potentially return, though no one wants to jinx anything:

“I am very hopeful that we can honor all of those characters who have been beloved and with this team, with the audience for years, but I don’t know what that’s going to look like; I don’t know the logistics of anything or the story.” Messer stated.

Criminal Minds will end with its 325th episode and will be a “tearjerker”. How do you feel about this binge-worthy show meeting its end?
