During his acceptance speech, Star Chadwick Boseman teased what has to be the worst kept secret in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that he expects a Black Panther 2.
He made mention of the fact during his speech:
It’s a pleasure to be celebrated by you and to be loved by you. One thing I do know, [when asked] ‘Did it change the industry?’ is that you can’t have a Black Panther without a 2 on it. So we love you and we’re celebrating.
When your film has taken in over 1.3 Billion in box office revenue and it is nominated for a best picture Oscar, it goes without saying that a sequel is forthcoming. This is in spite of the fact that at this moment in the MCU, T’Challa is floating in the air along with 50% of the planets inhabitants. Obviously that will need to be resolved before a sequel is shown. But rest assured, a sequel is coming.
