Character Breakdowns for Marvel’s Black Widow Movie

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”10098″ img_size=”775×493″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The question as to whether or not we were ever going to get a Black Widow film has essentially been answered, with Marvel studios moving forward with the project. Despite Black Widow now being an integral part of the Avengers, her solo film, which will star Scarlett Johansson; will reportedly take place before the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most likely in 2006.

According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel is looking for several actors to fit certain roles. The first would be a male of any ethnicity in his 40s to play the movie’s villain, who is described as “exciting”. The studio is also looking for “contemporaries” for Widow, around the late twenties and early thirties age range. The studio wants a male actor or either African, Middle Eastern, or East Indian descent and a female who is described as “kick-ass” and the “female James Bond”. Which, shouldn’t be too surprising, because we’re talking about super spies and espionage here.

Marvel is also looking for a European Caucasian female and male, both around the ages of fifty to sixty who are able to speak multiple languages. An actress in her 50s is also being looked for to play a smaller, but “conniving” villain.

According to The Hashtag Show, the villain could possibly be Red Guardian aka Alexi Shostajov, a KGB agent. In the comics, this baddie was once upon a time Black Widow’s husband.

Below you can see the premise of the Black Widow solo film:

At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action movies to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.
