Christopher McQuarrie Talks The Man of Steel 2 Proposal WB Shot Down; Direct Connection to Green Lantern

With Ben Affleck gone, Henry Cavill presumably not returning, and Ray Fisher in limbo, who knows what will happen to the plans that were originally set to occur.

One of the things that fans have been wanting for years is a Man of Steel sequel. Henry Cavill really impressed fans as Superman and we’ve been waiting for a second solo film since 2013. Unfortunately, no one knows if we actually will ever see Cavill back in that role. But, Mission Impossible: Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie apparently had some ideas. According to his thread on Twitter, he and Henry Cavill had discussed a possible sequel to Man of Steel. A story that would have apparently connected to a Green Lantern movie.

It seems WB had turned down this proposal, which might have made a lot of fans happy since Superman and Green Lantern are two aspects of the DCEU that are missing right now. Justice League featured a very tiny scene with the Green Lantern Corps, but no Hal Jordan or John Stewart – so what was really the point?

What do you think of this? Would you have wanted McQuarrie to have brought us another Man of Steel?
