Christopher Nolan Says ‘TENET’ Is a ‘Film of Great Ambition’

While films are moving further into 2020 and even 2021, Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros are holding firm that TENET will be released on July 17. That still remains to be seen and even the official Twitter page keeps changing its bio from Coming to Theaters to Coming to Theaters July 17. But despite all that, once the film does come it is going to be one that you will not want to miss. Christopher Nolan spoke with Total Film about his upcoming time bending film and says it is one of great ambition.

“It’s a film of great ambition and great scale that takes a genre, namely the spy film, and tries to take it into some new territory, and tries to take the audience on a ride they might not have had before, and might not be expecting,”

“We’re looking at first and foremost giving the audience an incredible ride in the spy movie genre, but using the audience’s facility with following the conventions of that genre to push it into some interesting and unexpected territory,”

If and when TENET is released it is destined to be a hit since it will be one of the few new movies released since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world. If it keeps its July 17 slot, the only competition it will face will be from Disney’s Mulan.

TENET is led by John David Washington and co-star Robert Pattinson. Nolan also brings back favorites such as Himesh Patel and Michael Caine. Elizabeth Debicki and Kenneth Branagh round out the cast.
