Colin Farrell Says ‘THE BATMAN’ Will Be Very Unique From Past Films

Production on The Batman is expected to resume sometime in September but for now the actors of the film are giving the film as much press as they can. Colin Farrell who will play Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin, recently spoke with Metro UK and had nothing but great things to say about the script and Matt Reeves approach.

‘The whole prospect is really exciting. I’m ecstatic to be part of that universe. There are certain words that are part of my internal lexicon and those words are Gotham City, Penguin, Joker, Batman, Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent… all of those things,’

On the script itself and what Matt Reeves has done with the film

‘I have been watching the Batman films with my kids, but this script is something that feels incredibly original. It leans into it but it doesn’t borrow; it’s born of the mythology of that character, Bruce Wayne, Batman and Gotham. But it feels like a treatment and a version that I hadn’t seen before. ‘Matt Reeves has done an incredible job of keeping it familiar and at the same time unique and new. It’s really exciting to be a part of it.’

Of course I would not expect anyone who is still filming to bash the film they are working on but everyone involved seems to really love the direction this film is headed. Matt Reeves has earned the trust of the fans and many are eagerly awaiting the filming to resume. DC FanDome is next month and there will for sure be The Batman related news that fans can look forward to.
