Comedian J.B. Smoove Role in Spider-Man: Far From Home Revealed

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”21728″ img_size=”913×457″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The hype has been gaining momentum for Spider-Man: Far From Home and we have another casting announcement to make. The Audi commercial that featured comedian J.B. Smoove for Spider-Man: Homecoming apparently left such a big impression that the actor has been cast in the sequel. While Smoove played a driving instructor in the promotion, who was threatening to not pass Peter Parker, he will be playing a teacher named Mr. Dell. This character will accompany the Midtown School of Science and Technology students as they travel to Europe. According to Executive Producer Eric Carroll, he won’t be alone.

“We’re also bringing back Martin Starr as the hapless Mr. Harrington. Together [with Mr. Dell], they constitute the least-capable group of chaperones ever to be sent to Europe with a bunch of kids.”

The EP added:

“When we knew we wanted a teacher to be escorting these kids across Europe, he was our first choice. So, sure enough, now we’ve got these two as this amazing comedic pair showing these kids around Europe.”

Caroll then teased that Mr. Harrington would be “understated” and Mr. Dell would be very “exaggerated”:

“Martin Starr, he’s like, ‘Okay, kids, there’s a water monster. So, maybe we’ll-‘, and then you’ve got J.B. Smoove doing the exact opposite. ‘Are you guys seeing this?!'”

It looks like while Far From Home will garner a lot of feels in this post-Tony Stark world, it will also bring a lot of much-needed laughs. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters July 2nd.
