Comic Review: Doom Patrol Weight of the Worlds #2

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”27738″ img_size=”411×623″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The loopy, acid trip continues in Doom Patrol Weight of the Worlds #2.

The second installment in this story line picks up with Cliff Steele back in his robotic body. Only, better! This time around, there are some upgrades. Upgrades that Cliff will have to unlock by acts of kindness. If this story series isn’t about just being happy, loving yourself, and trying to improve the world, I don’t know what is. Every character is always moving towards a goal line of self-improvement, while picking their team-mate’s spirits up. Who wouldn’t want that? Honestly, I’ll take a pack of psychedelic friends who are there for you whenever you need a hug any day of the week.

Doom Patrol is never afraid to be utterly weird and loud with their colors. Make sure you squint, because every little detail on a page was purposely put there for you to read it. This issue has everything, Cliff’s new body, Larry’s self-realization, Rita, doggos, and positive birthing! There’s even a small little meta-moment involving a Harley Quinn and Joker dolls to remind you that this world does indeed exist within the world of DC. Now I desperately want the Doom Patrol to meet the Joker – it would be a battle of the wackiest.

Seriously, I love the Doom Patrol. Whether it’s in a live-action or comic-book form, I love it. I love the boldness in not backing down from being strange. Or tackling social, internal, and any other kind of issues that may be comic books would stray away from. Doom Patrol exploring inside Danny the Street is everything I could hope for and I look forward to more of their story as this series continues.

I would give the second issue of Weight of the Worlds a 4/5![/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”27732,27733,27734,27735,27736,27737,27739,27740″ img_size=”411×631″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
